Your Opportunity

Stantec is seeking an exceptionally talented and enthusiastic individual who is interested in advancing their career, to join our Site Investigation and Remediation team. Our team provides a wide range of environmental services in a variety of sectors, including mining, oil and gas, energy, manufacturing, government, insurance, and commercial real estate. As a Canadian leader in site investigation, remediation and risk assessment, our group is dedicated to managing environmental issues professionally and proactively. Our staff of professionals includes specialists in human health toxicology, ecotoxicology, contaminant fate and transport, risk assessment, site remediation, environmental emergency response, and risk communication.

Our team members have the opportunity to be involved in a variety of projects ranging from brownfield redevelopments to environmental assessments for large-scale developments, evaluating health and ecological concerns associated with contaminants in the environment. Stantec currently requires a Senior Environmental Practitioner, Contaminated Sites Approved Professional (Numerical) would be an asset, to join our growing Site Investigation and Remediation team in Burnaby, British Columbia

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and support proposals and business development

  • Manage and liaise with clients in various sectors, including oil and gas, mining, manufacturing, government, insurance, and commercial real estate.

  • Active participation in project and site investigation and remediation team meetings

  • Management and interpretation of field data, management of projects, senior technical support of project execution, report quality and/or independent review to confirm deliverables meet client requirements as well as current provincial and federal requirements

  • Mentorship of site investigation and remediation personnel

  • Assist with the design of field sampling programs

  • Support technical and regulatory strategies for BC ENV Instruments (CofC, AIP, Determinations)

  • Lead site investigation and remediation projects towards BC ENV instrument submission

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Strong communication and organization skills are essential

  • A strong affinity for teamwork, training/mentoring junior, intermediate and senior office and field staff is also essential for this position

  • Superior and demonstrated verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the various provincial and federal environmental regulations and guidelines

Education and Experience

  • A Degree (Bachelor or Master's) in Environmental Science, Geology, Hydrogeology or Engineering, is required.

  • Minimum of 20 years of related experience in contaminated sites, delivering outstanding technical solutions on projects, ideally within British Columbia

  • Professional designation is required (P.Eng., P.Geo., P.Ag., R.P.Bio.)

  • Contaminated Sites Approved Professional through the BC Contaminated Sites Approved Professional Society is an asset.

Pay transparency laws require employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in the following jurisdiction(s):

Salary Range(s):

  • Lower Mainland $143,800 - Lower Mainland $222,900 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in BC (Lower Mainland includes Vancouver & Burnaby)

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
