We have an immediate opportunity for a Project Manager (Site Investigation & Remediation) to join our dynamic Environmental Services team in Burnaby, British Columbia . As a key member of the team, you will also work with senior management to help determine the future direction of the group. This will include providing technical direction and guidance as well as identifying business development opportunities in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.
Your Key Responsibilities
Manage clients in various sectors including insurance and commercial real estate, government, and oil and gas
Project Management of Phase I, II, III ESAs, Stage 1 PSI and Stage 2 PSI/DSI investigations, and remediation projects
Manage applications under the BC Contaminated Sites Regulations for regulatory instruments including Approvals in Principal and Certificate of Compliance
Provide guidance and review on project deliverables including management of staff, budgeting, scheduling, and health and safety
Provide staff mentorship and training
Work with leadership to continually assess the direction of the practice
Collaborate across disciplines including Indoor Environments, Environmental Assessment disciplines, Geotechnical, Atmospheric Sciences, and Water Resources across Stantec Canada offices
Actively participate in promoting a strong health and safety culture in the team
Pursue and lead project efforts within the Site Investigation & Remediation team in British Columbia
Lead proposal development, including the development of work plans, scopes, and budgets
Participating in marketing and business development meetings as needed
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Strong client management and communication skills are essential
Passionate about teamwork and training/mentoring junior and intermediate office and field staff
Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
Proven knowledge of the various provincial and federal environmental regulations and guidelines
Education and Experience
Bachelor or master’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Hydrogeology or Environmental Engineering
Minimum of 7 years of directly applicable experience as an Environmental Professional, with experience in contaminated sites investigation, ideally within British Columbia
Minimum of 2 years Project Management experience is an asset
Preference will be given to applicants with a professional designation (e.g., P.Eng., P.Geo., P.Ag., etc.)
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
