Stantec’s Power team has exciting full time career opportunities for Drafter. As part of our positive and dynamic multi-discipline team environment, the successful candidate will be engaging in the design/drafting and documentation of variety of HV/EHV AC and DC substation projects throughout North America. Based in our Burnaby office, the candidates are responsible for the timely delivery of high quality drawings for projects.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Understanding and translating engineering sketches and markups into properly documented drawings in applicable electronic and/or manual formats with high efficiency.

• Ensuring drawings are produced with accuracy and in accordance with applicable drafting codes and standards.

• Qualified candidate may be asked to perform design works in different disciplines under supervision of engineer.

• Assisting the designers/engineers in preparation of final project document such as IFF, IFT, IFC and Record.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

• Familiarity with BC Hydro AutoCAD drafting standards and practices is an asset.

• Proficient in Microstation V8i, AutoCAD, AutoCAD Rater Design, Civil 3D, etc. and Microsoft Office tools.

• Strong knowledge or direct experience of substation design in Structural would be an asset.

• Solid experience of Inventor or similar 3D design software would be an asset.

• Dedicated team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Fluent in English with writing, oral and speaking.

• Ability to deal with multiple tasks and manage time appropriately.

Education and Experience

• Diploma in drafting from a recognized academic institute or equivalent work experience.

• 4-6 years of direct drafting/design experience in AutoCAD on high voltage substation projects with specialization in Structural discipline.

Typical office environment working with computers; Stantec offers a flexible work environment (a hybrid model of working in the office and at home). Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Pay transparency laws require employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in the following jurisdiction(s):

Salary Range(s):

• Lower Mainland $63,200 - Lower Mainland $91,600 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in BC (Lower Mainland includes Vancouver & Burnaby)

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
