Your Opportunity

Stantec’s Power team based in Metro Vancouver is currently offering an exciting opportunity for Field Inspector. As part of our positive and dynamic multi-discipline team environment, the successful candidate will be engaged in the inspection for a variety of Distribution projects throughout British Columbia. The candidate is responsible for accurate and timely delivery of site photos, data, and measurements to support the Design team.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • A strong commitment to Safety, upholding Stantec’s Health & Safety Framework guidelines when performing site work

  • Act as trip lead for site visits to inspect Distribution infrastructure across British Columbia

  • Collect, share and maintain accurate and comprehensive site data, including photos, measurements and site-specific notes in an organized and systematic manner

  • Understand and interpret design drawings, specifications and standards

  • Participate maintaining quality control procedures to ensure accuracy and integrity of data and deliverables

  • Review and respond to design team queries related to site data

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Demonstrated experience working safely outdoors on project sites

  • Dedicated team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Solid oral and written communications skills, ability to interact with the public

  • Demonstrated experience in power distribution is an asset

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of tools, including MS Teams and Excel

  • Class 5 driver's license

Education and Experience

  • Diploma from a recognized technical institute considered an asset, or minimum of 3 years of relevant field experience.

This role is predominantly field based, and field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather. Prior field experience in a safety regulated environment considered an asset. Knowledge of survey practices and equipment considered an asset as well.

Salary Range(s):

  • Lower Mainland $67,500 - Lower Mainland $97,900 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in BC (Lower Mainland includes Vancouver & Burnaby)

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
