Stantec Senior / Principal Landscape Planner | Bristol in Bristol, United Kingdom

Redefine your personal best.

Are you passionate about the role that Landscape Planning and Landscape Architecture have in addressing climate change? Do you want to work for one of the most sustainable companies in the world and across a wide variety of project types and sectors?

We have an opportunity for a Senior or Principal Landscape Planner to join our collaborative Landscape Architecture team based in our Bristol office. You would be working on a diverse range of projects, including strategic land, regeneration, residential and commercial schemes. We are looking for Landscape Architects who can think differently and love to challenge conventional thinking to join our growing team.

We can offer you a friendly and collaborative work environment. Our landscape architecture group across Stantec UK&I comprises around 60 people, providing a collaborative, creative and supportive network of people working to meet unprecedented industry-wide demand and environmental challenges.

In this role you will be leading on the preparation of Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments (LVIAs) and appraisals and creating green infrastructure strategies for landscape-led masterplans. You will be contributing to a wide variety of projects from pre-planning and feasibility through to planning and post-planning support.

In the Senior or Principal role, you would provide landscape planning input to projects whilst also cultivating strong client and project team relationships, actively supporting the development of colleagues. You will also prepare fee proposals, be responsible for landscape planning task management and undertake field and visual survey work. Furthermore, there will be opportunities to influence and shape the team objectives and growth through your work, whilst also developing your own career and expertise within a Registered Practice of the Landscape institute.

We can offer flexible working arrangements including hybrid working and full or part-time working hours. Furthermore, a competitive benefits package, a strong culture of learning and development and great range of different projects.

About You

You will most likely hold a degree or diploma in Landscape Architecture or other relevant subject, and ideally be a Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute (CMLI). You will share our desire to work with clients and stakeholders to create exceptional places which provide multiple benefits to people, communities, and the environment.

You will have a demonstrable experience of preparing Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments and appraisals for UK planning applications with strong report writing skills. In addition, you will understand the issues and needs of a range of technical disciplines in relation to the planning and design of sustainable places and projects.

You will have proven ability to understand client needs, to think creatively and provide pragmatic advice to meet client needs for sustainable solutions. As a proactive and engaged team-player, you will enjoy mentoring and supporting the development of colleagues, as well as working collaboratively with other teams within the wider Stantec business.

It is advantageous, though not essential, for candidates to have experience in undertaking townscape assessments, tall building studies, environmental colour assessments / colour studies, landscape setting studies, feasibility appraisals, or providing LVIA support on infrastructure and energy projects.

Why Join Us?

The friendly and collaborative culture at Stantec is something we are proud of and we have many other reasons for you to be excited about joining us. We offer a competitive salary, a great pension plan, private medical insurance, gym membership discounts, hybrid and flexible working arrangements, industry leading training, great projects and lots more!
