Stantec UK is currently seeking a driven Associate or Senior Associate Coastal Engineer to join our growing Coastal Engineering community of practice.

Reporting to our UK Sector Lead and supported by a network of technical experts both in the UK and in North America; you can be located at any of our 24 offices in the UK whilst also agile working.

The Stantec Coastal Engineering group is a diverse and collaborative team, passionate about addressing the climate change emergency, and leads and supports a wide variety of coastal work across the globe. Team members are expected to be able to contribute in several areas of coastal engineering, and be an expert or developing expert in at least one of the following areas:

  • Nature-based solutions to address coastal ecosystem restoration and sea-level rise adaptation and resilience.

  • Design and analysis of coastal structures, ports, harbours, and waterways

  • Coastal Management, Environmental Restoration, and Enhancement

  • Natural hazards and coastal flood risk management

  • Coastal hydrodynamics and morphology

  • Experience in planning, design, construction and life-cycle management of industrial and/or port facilities in a coastal setting

About You

Primarily, we are looking for someone who has a passion for delivering effective solutions to our clients and a desire to work with the Coastal Engineering Leadership team to grow and develop the business. You will hold a degree in Civil, Coastal, or Environmental Engineering and be able to demonstrate the experience, character, and qualities of a chartered professional.

You will hold strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to conduct effective client and agency presentations, written technical report preparation, and project experience through professional publications and presentations. Demonstrated fieldwork, such as reconnaissance, measurements, construction inspection, or instrument handling and deployment is also preferred.
