Your Opportunity

Stantec’s Northwest Transportation group has an immediate need for talented, team focused Structural Engineers with a minimum of 4 years of experience in bridge and structural engineering and design on transportation projects. The position is based in Bellevue, WA. You will have the opportunity to learn, work on exciting and multi-faceted projects, and grow your career.

We are looking for Structural Engineers who excel in working in a team environment and have a passion for the work that they do. The successful candidates will join a growing team of transportation professionals and contribute to the design component of roadway and bridge projects throughout North America.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • The majority of work will include bridge projects for WSDOT and municipalities in WA.

  • Key duties include preparation of plans, specifications, structural analysis, design calculations, and load ratings for DOT and Municipal clients.

  • Tasks include but not be limited to performing bridge / structural analysis, design and geometry calculations, developing drawings, and assisting condition inspections and reports.

  • Position also entails preparing engineering reports and technical studies, and assisting on other projects, as needed, including construction phase design services support and field work.

Qualifications

Credentials and Capabilities

  • Experience with WSDOT projects preferred.

  • Proficient with CsiBridge, WSDOT PGSuper, WSDOT BRIDG, L-pile, MicroStation, AutoCAD and bridge engineering applications.

  • Familiar with AASHTO LRFD, WSDOT BDM, AASHTO Seismic Guide Specs and other structural design standards.

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skill.

  • PE license with the ability to obtain a WA PE; WA SE license preferred.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering

  • Minimum of 4 years of bridge engineering and structural design experience

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time.

Pay transparency laws require employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in the following jurisdiction(s):

Salary Range(s):

  • $85,200 - $123,500 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in WA

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.

Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.

  • Washington state employees are eligible to accrue 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 40 hours worked except for Seattle employees who accrue sick leave in accordance with the city’s paid sick leave law.
