Your Opportunity

The role of a Water Wastewater Engineer is to work on smaller projects and as a team member of larger projects under the guidance and supervision of a senior engineer designer. You should be able to evaluate, select, specify, and engineer systems or products for a project. You will perform a variety of tasks which may include calculations and field work. You will assist more senior engineer designers by performing the routine aspects of engineering assignments and may assist in the analysis of proposed projects.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Performs basic engineering calculations.

  • Assists in the preparation of engineering project documents, client presentations, client contact and communication pertaining to specific project deliverables.

  • Attends and assists in client, contractor, stakeholder, and regulatory agency meetings to gain a better understanding of client's goals, site assessments, and vendor equipment supplier contacts and coordination.

  • Assists in the development of a design through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats.

  • Utilizes relevant software programs to prepare exhibits and complex working drawings. Continues to develop skills using software programs for design and or drafting.

  • Assists in the review of shop drawings and submittals, responds to request for information, prepares site observation reports, and performs other contract administration tasks.

  • Recognizes when technical problems are developing and initiates appropriate corrective actions through the proper and appropriate line of reporting.

  • Assists with the development of job specific discipline specifications.

  • Assists in the evaluation and selection of systems and materials.

  • Participates in value engineering and basic cost estimating.

  • Trains less experienced team members in day-to-day activities including routine technical design, fundamental calculations, processing and company procedures.

  • Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Ability to solve problems using sound professional judgment.

  • Ability to interpret sketches, drawings and other similar material.

  • Ability to check own work for accuracy and completeness and manage time to meet project budget and schedule.

  • Ability to participate and collaborate in a project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought.

  • Developing ability to effectively discuss project issues with clients and reviewing agencies.

  • Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite and Adobe.

  • Proficient in 2D Autodesk, 2D Bentley (multi 2D platform) preferred as well as basic knowledge of relevant software programs which may include Civil3D, StormCAD, PondKing, InfoWORKS, WaterCAD, Biowin, GPS-X and HADES.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering from an accredited institution.

  • EIT.

  • Minimum of 0-5 years of experience.

  • Working toward licensure.
