About the role:

Our New Zealand business is key to our success as a true global engineering consultancy. Along with our own pipeline of work across the country, our experts provide substantial support and design services to projects in Australia and the UK. We have opportunities for experienced Network Planners proficient in hydraulic modelling, covering both stormwater and wastewater projects. This is an exciting opportunity to help further build our national Network Planning discipline team, which unites our stormwater and wastewater hydraulic modelling capabilities. Stantec globally is known for our best practice in hydraulic modelling, and our New Zealand team unites this global best practice with local knowledge, to deliver high quality modelling and network planning projects for our clients.

Based in any of our key offices in New Zealand and reporting to the Team Leader, you will be working closely with our modelling and design teams, clients & project delivery teams. Your key responsibilities will include the following:

  • Technical leadership and oversight of Network Planning projects and hydraulic modelling activities (including liaison with clients)

  • Understanding our clients’ needs and providing support to the wider team to help achieve those outcomes

  • Providing clear communication on technical matters on modelling projects, to both within our modelling teams, other disciplines and clients

  • Mentorship and training of modelling staff across our New Zealand offices, sharing knowledge and best practices

  • Ensuring that QAQC procedures are followed

You will be fluent with InfoWorks ICM. Proficiency in other modelling software packages, such as DHI Mike, HEC-HMS/RAS or Tuflow is desirable. Strong understanding and capabilities in GIS and data analysis is also desirable. You will have the ability to lead and undertake projects involving hydraulic modelling from a technical standpoint and work closely with the Project Manager and other technical teams to deliver to our clients. You will need to be progressive, have enthusiasm for innovative thinking and be willing to be actively involved in the wider Global Stantec Network Planning community.
