Your Opportunity

Stantec’s New England Transportation group is looking for a Senior Project Manager/Structural Engineer in New Hampshire!

Stantec is seeking a Senior Project Manager/Structural Engineer to join our team of transportation professionals servicing state and municipal clients in New Hampshire, Maine, and throughout New England. This position would be based out of the Auburn, NH office, but you would be part of a larger New England transportation design group with offices in Portland, ME; South Burlington, VT; Burlington & Boston, MA; and several other satellite offices. The New England structures group consists of about 30 bridge staff with varied experience and project backgrounds.

Your Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Project Manager/Structural Engineer, you will be you will be managing and technically leading teams in the design and construction administration of complex projects for public and private sector clients. Specific responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Lead bridge design projects of varying size and complexity through all phases of design.

  • Manage the development of design plans, technical specifications, and construction cost estimates.

  • Prepare, check, and deliver engineering calculations, reports, and technical studies.

  • Guide and mentor junior and intermediate staff.

  • Build a strong culture of quality design and teamwork.

  • Assist with or lead bridge inspection and load rating assignments.

  • Carry out constructability reviews during the design of conventionally procured projects.

  • Develop and present information to clients and the public.

  • Coordinate with clients, agencies, subconsultants, and others to obtain and determine project requirements and approvals.

  • Additional duties may include assisting the transportation leadership with project pursuits and proposal preparation.

Qualifications

You Capabilities and Credentials

  • Thorough understanding of NHDOT design standards and practices.

  • Strong knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications.

  • Experience in a bridge engineering technical lead role.

  • Ability to check the work of others for accuracy and completeness and manage time to meet project budget and schedule.

  • Effective verbal, visual, and written communication skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Experience in MicroStation, AutoCAD products and MathCAD.

  • Experience using bridge design and analysis software (Merlin-Dash, CSiBridge, STAAD, AASHTOware, LPile, Group, LEAP-steel/concrete, etc.)

  • Experience with bridge inspection and load rating.

  • Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting, engage in creative and critical thought, and effectively communicate ideas, design issues, and solutions to others

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering & Licensed Professional Engineer required, Master’s degree in Structural Engineering desired.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience.

Position will primarily be in an office setting; may require some field work. The ability to work some from home will be extended to the candidate once in-office working relationships are established.
