Description
Our community development team in Albany, Western Australia is seeking to appoint a Principal Civil Engineer | Design Office Manager. You will manage an existing experienced team of engineers, designers and drafters who are passionate about making a difference to the local area and being part of the exciting growth within the Great Southern region.
You will have the opportunity to work on variety of projects, play a key role in delivering our projects from master planned communities and high-density developments through to infrastructure projects for Council and government. We hold a strong industry reputation off the back of successfully delivered projects.
With the support of the local Group Leader and Regional Business Leader, you will be responsible for the growth of secured and unsecured backlog and supporting the team in delivering projects to the highest possible standards.
About the role
Ideally you will have consulting engineering experience working within the community development team of engineers, designers and drafters.
You will be client facing, responsible for project management / technical design reviews, and have the ability to strategically position the office for future works. You will represent the company externally to clients and play a senior and active role in building these relationships.
You will enjoy a diverse role, working on critical projects, managing and mentoring resources, business development and building a high-performing team culture.
Day to day tasks would involve:
Civil Engineering design and project management
Day to day management of civil design team
Full project life cycle involvement from tendering through to design and construction phase services/support including project review, liaison with client and consultant team, liaison with authorities, reporting, contract administration and quality audits.
Managing clients and stakeholders
Mentoring engineers, designers, and drafters to enable them to perform successfully at all levels
Contributing to our company culture
To be successful for this role you'll need:
Bachelor of Civil Engineering (preferrable)
Demonstrated civil design experience, ideally in consulting engineering for urban, land and subdivisions
Relevant registration and professional accreditations
Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including written communication, negotiation and facilitation
Team leadership skills
