The Opportunity:

As the Water Australia Sustainability Practice Leader you will play an integral role in supporting planned, consistent revenue growth for sustainability related services and to act as a focal point in the Water AU Business Centre for sustainability services and cross-company collaboration.

Sustainability in this context is anticipated to cover at a minimum:

The position will establish a focal point for directional and strategic growth and awareness of our sustainability service offerings. The role requires collaboration with other team members within and outside the Business Centre (BC) team and across the enterprise-wide geography when appropriate.

Candidates for this role require deep knowledge of market conditions related to our climate consultancy work, mitigating greenhouse gas emissions, and resiliently adapting to a rapidly warming world. Preference is for particular experience in the Australian water sector. A demonstrated track record of client relationship success, effective communications, and keen ability to influence and collaborate with others is required.

Reporting to the Market Leader – Advisory (ML), the Practice Leader (PL) is responsible for:

  • Developing strategic business opportunities to shape the BC.

  • Supporting the ML in strategic pursuits.

  • Technical excellence of the Practice they represent through project delivery.

  • Ensuring technical delivery consistency within their market.

  • Identifying staff within the BC who have skills within their Practice.

  • Linking needs within the BC to skills in other Australian and New Zealand BCs and within Stantec globally.

  • Supporting various leadership roles within the BC to deliver technical excellence for our clients.

  • Supporting sustainability literacy training, and development of systems and processes to embed sustainability in projects in the BC.

About you:

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering, with relevant professional experience in the water and wastewater industry.

  • Nominally 15 years of related work, technical leadership, and consulting experience; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.

  • Highly developed interpersonal skills to develop and maintain positive relationships with internal and external clients.

  • Highly developed consulting skills to liaise with clients and other stakeholders to achieve mutually successful project outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering, with relevant professional experience in the water and wastewater industry.
