Description:

The Assistant Resident Engineer will support and working on projects associated with Stormwater & Drainage, Flood Alleviation, Wastewater Networks and Water distribution networks Pumping Station, Recycling Plant. This will involve undertaking investigations, planning, designing, tendering, contract administration and construction supervising & monitoring. The role will be based in Abu Dhabi.

Key accountabilities for this position include but are not limited to:

•\tTechnical Delivery

\tAssist the Resident Engineer in administering the operational functions of the day-to-day activities on the project with respect to utilities works. Interacting with contractor, sub-contractor, and laboratory & monitoring construction work on daily basis.

\tCo-ordinate with various government departments, contractors, consultants and public to facilitate progress and avoid delays. Coordinate his direct activities with the other engineers and members of the construction supervision team.

\tMaintain logs of project progress, handing-over and final accounts

\tArrange progress meetings for various utilities with the service authorities representative, minute them and distribute the records as required. Chairs the meetings with the utilities agencies and any other meetings delegated by the Resident Engineer Utilities.

\tAssist the Resident Engineer in reviewing of shop drawings, design proposals, method statements and other activities including correspondence related to the utility section and prepare replies for the review of the Resident Engineer.

\tDemonstrated ability to prepare instructions, specifications, and reports and cost estimates.

\tCoordinate with the contractor engineers on scheduling and application of resources.

\tDirect, assist and monitor the performance of the inspectors and surveyors as applicable.

\tReview and approve Design document and construction plan and procedure.

\tPrepare / Assist in the preparation of Weekly and Monthly progress reports. Demonstrated ability to prepare instructions, specifications, and reports and cost estimates.

\tKeep necessary records and as-built records and take charge of the handing over of the utility works to the respective service authorities and assist the contractor to obtain necessary final clearance.

\tIdentifying non-conforming works, generating reports and corrective actions, and coordinating responses.

\tPerforms other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

•\tCollaboration and working as part of a team.

\tWork in conjunction with engineers to solve project design problems, performing basic design calculations as required.

\tConduct technical, feasibility studies and site investigations.

\tLiaison with teams working remotely from other parts of the world to facilitate the completion of tasks and projects.

\tGood communicator.

•\tClient Service Management

\tInternal and external client DM Infrastructure liaison

\tAbility to build and maintain lasting and positive relationships.

\tExperience in utility diversions and management.

•\tFollow safe work practices and adhere to company guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner.

\tComplete all work in line with Stantec Core Values and in accordance with the Stantec Quality Systems and Project Quality Procedures.

\tDesign for safety, i.e., Construction Design Management.

•\tOther duties as requested from time to time by the Resident Engineer.

Qualifications:

• The successful candidate must have a bachelor's degree in civil engineering with Eight (8) years of experience in experience in miscellaneous Drainage Work Projects.

• Experience in SWS Water Infrastructure Projects is an advantage.
