Stantec Senior / Principal Civil Engineer - Water Sector in Nationwide, United Kingdom

Our Water sector teams partner with a wide variety of clients across the UK and Ireland, working on some of the largest, most iconic projects in the industry. Our strategy within the Water division for 2024 and beyond is creating a number of new exciting opportunities, including this opportunity for a Senior or Principal Civil Engineer to join our team.

We have flexibility around where this opportunity can be based – with our Civil Engineering teams working on local projects but also connecting into a UK and Ireland-wide community of civil engineering professionals. The role can be based from any Stantec UK or Ireland office, with hybrid working allowing for a mix of in-office and home working.

As a Senior or Principal Civil Engineer , you will work across the project lifecycle through asset planning, strategy, concept, outline and detailed design. You will be responsible for leading on civil engineering design across a variety of projects, leading project teams, and working collaboratively with other disciplines to ensure successful project delivery outcomes for our clients.

As a senior member of our team, you will share your knowledge and experience through formal and informal mentoring and potentially as a line manager; taking a pride in demonstrating one of Stantec’s core values of putting people first.

About You

You will have experience working as a Civil Engineer on projects within sectors such as the water, environment or other related infrastructure sectors. Ideally you will be a Chartered Engineer with a relevant professional body such as ICE or CIWEM.

You will have experience of working within client-facing roles, leading on client engagement and collaboration on a regular basis. You will also be experienced in successful project delivery and have experience of working collaboratively with project teams to develop innovative solutions.

Finally, you will have a passion for the water and environment sectors and be committed to supporting our developing civil engineers thorough mentoring.
